Replica Audemars Piguet new model Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon is scheduled to be unveiled at SIHH 2014. It seems that it’s not just the Royal Oak Concept’s unique thick case that makes this model seem somewhat familiar. This is because a model with the same function already appeared in 2011. Therefore, I think it would be more accurate to call this model a case variation rather than a completely new model. It is a white ceramic and titanium case, and white ceramic is used for the bezel, crown, push buttons, and dial bridge, giving it a very different feel in terms of image.

The basic function is a tourbillon movement and GMT, which is the simplest form in the Royal Oak concept lineage. These were concept models that included features that had never been seen before, such as a torque indicator or a function indicator. Of course, as the complexity of complications has become more sophisticated in recent years, there has been no relative impact.
At 9 o’clock, H, N, R indicate functions. I know it from the French initials, but it is a function indicator (crown position indicator) that means winding, adjustment, and neutral. What looks similar to the date window at 3 o’clock is combined with a day and night indicator in GMT. Day and night appear to be indicated by contrast below the time display disc, and the GMT number can be changed using the push button at the 4 o’clock position of the case. It is equipped with Caliber 2930, which uses a twin barrel and has a power reserve of about 10 days (modified from the existing Caliber 2913 to a white ceramic bridge and changed numbering), and the thickness of the movement is only 9.9mm. Therefore, the thickness of the case is also essential. It reminds me of a photo of the first concept model in 2002, where the sleeves looked like they were going to burst while wearing a suit. Water resistance is 100m.
Since there have been no clear new models in recent years, I am a little worried about what next year will be like. I think we’ll find out for sure at SIHH 2014.
