Inspired by the turtle shell and created in 1912, the Tortue is one of replica Cartier‘s oldest wristwatch collections, along with the Torno, Santos, and Tank.
Following the addition of the men’s Tokttui XL model in the form of big date and small seconds at the end of last year, as well as the Tokttwi watch with a world timer function.
This year, a large number of new products for women were released. And it has already been launched in Korea this month and can be found in stores.
They are made with new, striking pink gold and white gold cases, respectively, and are available in two sizes: Small and Medium.
And interestingly, regardless of size, all models are equipped with mechanical hand-winding (manual) movements.
In the past, quartz movements were often used in small-sized models, but this is a quite noticeable change.
First of all, this is a pink gold case medium (M) size model.
The medium size is approximately 31mm wide (excluding crown) x 39mm tall (including lug to lug).
The elegant case silhouette unique to the Tokttu collection is still inherited in the new model.
However, the difference compared to the previous model is that the case thickness is thinner and the sides of the case are flatter (the previous version had more curves).
Cartier’s classic style remains, such as the guilloché dial with printed Roman numerals, the central rail-road minute track, and the sword-shaped heat-treated blue hands.
The movement is equipped with the 430 MC, which is based on Piaget’s Time Only Ultra Thin manual caliber, which is only 2.1mm thick. The vibration frequency is 3 hertz, and the power reserve is 43 hours.
The brown alligator leather strap and Ardion buckle made of the same pink gold as the case are used to add simplicity yet elegance.
Next is the small size pink gold case & bracelet model (Ref. WA501010).
This is the version with diamond pavé setting on the bezel (even the crown is set with a diamond cabochon cut).
The case size is 24mm wide x 30mm tall (including lug to lug), making it a compact size that women will like.
When I first saw the picture, I thought it would naturally have a built-in quartz movement, but it was equipped with the 8970 MC, a small-diameter, women’s in-house manual caliber.
This is a white gold case (bezel diamond setting) & bracelet medium size model (Ref. WA501013).
Like the pink gold medium size model shown earlier, it is equipped with the 430 MC manual caliber.
This is a small size model (Ref. WA501007) with a white gold case with a diamond pavé bezel setting and a pink alligator leather strap.
This is a new product that gives off a feminine and cute feeling at first glance. Equipped with a mechanical manual 8970 MC caliber.
The buckle is not an ardillon-shaped buckle, but a deployant buckle made of white gold.
